THE AREA

In the last decade, Gran Alacant has gone from being a summer area that was almost deserted outside of the summer months to being a nucleus with more than 11,000 registered full-time residents (although some 20,000 are believed to live there and have residency registered elsewhere).

Due to the large increase in population experienced in recent years, public services in Gran Alacant have expanded considerably. It now has a public school, a doctor’s surgery, library, post office, sports pavilion and the Gran Alacant Shopping Center.
