THE AREA
Daya Nueva is a quaint centuries-old village, currently with only 1733 inhabitants (as of 2020). Back in 1411, the area was made up of a fortified mansion (residence of the lord) a Christian village of twelve families and a small Mudejar aljama that contained unsuspected treasures.
From the 14th to the 17th century it was run by the Masquefa, Rocafull and Boil family. Until 1857 the municipality was called Daya Nueva and Daya Vieja. In 1974, Daya Nueva annexed the adjoining municipality of Puebla de Rocamora.
